A lot of the time, you may not notice the crack or stone chip in your windshield until the next morning or later in the day after the car has been parked. However, that isn’t always how it happens. Sometimes, you’ll be driving along on the highway at a high speed and what seems like a golf ball-sized rock will hammer your windshield, causing an instant chip or crack. And while the instant crack might startle you, it’s important not to panic in either scenario.
If your sight line is obstructed and you’re having trouble seeing where you’re going, find a parking lot or safe area and pull over. If the car is already parked, just leave it where it is. If the crack or chip isn’t obscuring your vision, carry on driving until you reach your destination, then plan you next move.
